ADOPT THE IRON TRAILS BRIGADE

IRON TRAILS

The Iron Trails Brigade, an armored brigade operating under the 162nd Division of the Central Regional Command, specializes in the Israeli-made Merkava Mark IV, considered to be the world’s most advanced tank. Armored corps units such as the Iron Trails Brigade are some of the IDF’s biggest assets due to their mobility, armor, and power.

The Iron Trails Brigade was created in 1967, originally serving as a reserves brigade specializing in the operation of American “Patton” M60 Tanks. During the War of Attrition, the brigade was responsible for successfully holding the 160 kilometer-long Suez Canal defensive line in Sinai.

During Operation Protective Edge, the Brigade operated in a wide area of Gaza, using the IDF’s most advanced technology to assist in identifying and scanning enemy tunnels.
