More than 250 Ohio FIDF Supporters Gathered in a Tent for ‘Guys’ Night Out’ to Support Israeli Soldiers

More than 250 attendees from Cleveland’s Jewish community and across Ohio gathered last week at Landerhaven, an event venue in in Mayfield Heights, for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) Ohio Chapter’s  ‘Guys’ Night Out.’ The annual event raises funds to support the well-being of the brave soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Special precautions were taken to make sure the event was COVID-safe, and the gathering took place in an outdoor tent.

Guests enjoyed premium liquor bars with scotch, bourbon and tequilla, a kosher strolling dinner, a cigar lounge and unique raffle drawings and casino games. An auction offered items such as a Mauser Model 98K, one-week trip to Israel including airfare and accommodations, VIP access to the Lexus Home Plate Club to watch the Cleveland Indians, and access to luxury vehicles like the 2021 Lexus LS 500.

The event was co-chaired by Jeff Cohen and Richard Uria, and included special guests Event Chairman Emeritus Jared Miller; FIDF Ohio Director Lane Schlessel; and many other business leaders and philantropists from the Cleveland area. “I am so proud to see the Ohio community coming together this summer in a safe way to raise money for IDF soldiers,” said Cohen. “Guys Night Out continues to be one of Cleveland’s leading social events, with top-class food, drinks, and cigars.”

More than 50 corporate and family sponsors supported Guys Night Out, helping to provide for the well-being and needs of the IDF’s Golani Infantry Brigade for the next three years. These brave young men and women serve in the IDF and protect the borders of Israel as well as Jews worldwide.

“This is our tenth year of Guys Night Out, and we are so glad to be back together in-person, under the tent, with community leaders who not only have a great night of fun, but most importantly, understand the work we do at FIDF is critical to securing the  future of Israel,” said Schlessel.
