Nearly 300 Ohio FIDF Supporters At ‘Guys Night Out’ Event Raising $200,000 To Support Israeli Soldiers

Nearly 300 guests from Cleveland’s Jewish community and from across Ohio gathered on Thursday, June 2nd for a Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) Ohio Chapter’s Guys Night Out, raising $200,000 to support the well-being and educational programs for the brave soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) .

The event, co-chaired by Jeff Cohen and Richard Uria, featured an open bar, a cigar lounge, a kosher strolling dinner, casino-style games, an auction, and raffle drawings. The event raised money to support 3 years adoption of the Gaza Division & Northern Gaza Brigade benefiting the wellbeing and welfare of each of the battalion’s soldiers. Funds were also raised to support FIDF’s Lone Soldiers’ flight home program, helping reuniting FIDF lone soldiers with their families. In all, 58 corporate sponsors contributed to support FIDF.

Distinguished guests included Event Chairman Emeritus Jared Miller; Event co-chairs Cohen and Uria; FIDF CEO, Steve Weil, FIDF Central Region Vice President Tamir Oppenheim, FIDF OH Chapter Director, Lane Schlessel, Ohio Chapter Chairman Emeritus Irwin Haber and Mayor of Solon Edward H. Krause.
